Veteran Jonathan Warren was with his girlfriend for 10 years but when we left military service he wasn't the same man as before. He wanted to give her the love and treatment she deserved, but he needed to get himself help first. After going through treatments and finding a better mental space for himself, he reached back out to see if he could have another chance.

I pushed my girlfriend away and we’d been together for over ten years at that point and I just wasn’t emotionally available. I couldn’t even take care of myself, much less love somebody else in that time. So from my personal desires I really wanted to be with her and I wanted to show up in a way that she deserved. So after I went through this Brain Treatment Center, one of the first things that I did was reach back out to her and let her know that I'm doing better and if there’s a chance that we could talk then I would really appreciate that. Well, she didn’t respond for about six months. Fair enough. And when she did, she was in tears, just to see that change had happened, that I had life back in my eyes and I was showing and present and so it was a really powerful moment for both of us. And we actually just got engaged. And we’ll be getting married this fall. This video was produced by BrainLine thanks to generous support from the Infinite Hero Foundation.
