In 2008, two years after he returned home from service, Army Veteran Tom Voss was diagnosed with PTSD. But, for him, despite having some of the symptoms that come with PTSD, the diagnosis did not seem to synch up with his experiences. Later, he came to understand the concept of moral injury, which helped him better understand his experiences in combat and his reactions once home.
