Polytrauma - Edward Hines, Jr. Veterans Hospital

The Hines Polytrauma Network Site is one of 23 facilities in the country designed to provide long-term rehabilitative care to Veterans and Servicemembers who experienced severe injuries (including brain injuries) to more than one organ system. Hines has a Spinal Cord Injury/Disorders Service, offering every spinal cord injured Veteran the optimum continuum of care in order that they can achieve and maintain their highest possible level of independence and functioning. They also have the Central Blind Rehabilitation Center, a 34-bed residential facility where Veterans can develop the skills and attitudes needed for dealing with vision loss.
