Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) is the flagship organization of the CAMC Health System. It is an 893-bed, regional referral center serving southern West Virginia. The Center offers CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) accredited programs in brain injury, spinal cord rehabilitation and inpatient care. CAMC’s Medical Rehabilitation Center, part of its Neurosciences Center, offers a program with physiatrists who have specific training in brain injury and spinal cord rehabilitation. It is a 40-bed facility. The program works with a patient's referring physician and family to create a treatment plan. Patients at the center are recovering from a range of physical disabilities, including spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries, strokes, amputations and orthopedic injuries.
