Kingsbrook’s 25-bed Traumatic Brain Injury and Coma Recovery Unit (TBI), located in Brooklyn, is a specialized service within the Rehabilitation Institute. It serves adults with head injuries and neurological conditionsresulting from: violence, vehicular Accident, brain tumors, anoxia, hemorrhagic stroke, and head injury secondary to falls. . Vocational services help patients with brain injury identify strengths, improve areas of challenge and explore new work interests as necessary. Pre-injury interests and the introduction of new activities are fostered through Therapeutic Recreation.
