A brief summary of current research.
Depression treatment preferences after traumatic brain injury
Fann, JR, Jones AL, Dikmen SS, Temin, NR, Esselman PC, and Bombardier, CH. Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation, 2009, Jul-Aug 24 (4):272-8.
In this study, physical exercise or counseling were preferred more than other techniques for depression treatment after TBI. Group therapy was the least favored modality. Face-to-face communication or phone contact was preferred over using the Internet. Medication was more likely to be chosen as a treatment by people with TBI who had a pre-injury history of depression or other mental health issues.
