Personal bankruptcy after traumatic brain or spinal cord injury: the role of medical debt

People with brain injury or spinal cord injury who owe money to healthcare providers may be at the greatest risk for bankruptcy. People with TBI and SCI had fewer assets than a random sample of other petitioners and were more likely to be receiving government income assistance at the time of bankruptcy.
