New York Legal Assistance Group: Veterans Project

The New York Legal Assistance Group's LegalHealth Division has clinics at two Veteran Administration hospitals in New York City, and one on Long Island. Using the medical-legal partnership model, attorneys coordinate with medical staff to identify and help veterans with issues including eviction prevention, public benefits denials, and debt collection. This initiative improves the health and well-being of veterans by addressing the pressing legal needs that endanger their health or impede their treatment and recovery. Clients are referred to LegalHealth clinics by healthcare providers in the outpatient psychiatry and PTSD clinics at these hospitals.
