VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) consists of two clinical care facilities in Pittsburgh as well as five community based outpatient clinics. VAPHS maintains academic affiliations with more than 170 associated health educational programs, including the University of Pittsburgh Schools of Medicine and Dental Medicine. VAPHS also supports an active research program, including four National Research Centers of Excellence.
The H.J. Heinz campus is home to a 262-bed community living center as well as an ambulatory care center that offers outpatient services including dental, primary care, pharmacy and rehabilitation services. The campus also offers a 65-bed Veterans recovery center and 31 psychiatric residential rehabilitation treatment beds.
