Kessler's Brain Injury Rehabilitation Center is designed to treat physical and/or functional limitations, cognitive impairments, and emotional or behavioral difficulties of patients with brain injury. Kessler provides medical, nursing and therapy care for patients at every level of injury – from those in a minimally conscious state to those requiring outpatient cognitive rehabilitation. These include inpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapies, as well as the outpatient Cognitive Rehabilitation Program. Kessler is one of 14 centers in the nation to be designated by the National Institute of Disability Rehabilitation and Research as a Model System for the treatment and research of traumatic brain injuries.
The 152-bed West Orange campus is the original campus founded by the Kessler Institute more than 60 years ago.
