Founded in 1987, The Rehabilitation Center at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas, located in northern San Diego County, provides inpatient and outpatient care for patients with brain injuries, as well as other conditions. The center also has a Brain Injury Day Treatment program. The center provides physical, occupational, and speech/language therapies, as well as other services. The Rehabilitation Center is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), and has experience with treating returning soldiers’ combat-related traumatic brain injuries. Scripps Encinitas is the first CARF-accredited brain injury program in the San Diego, Imperial and Riverside counties. The hospital is North County’s first Joint Commission-certified Primary Stroke Center and offers a CARF-accredited stroke rehabilitation program. Scripps Encinitas is the only hospital in San Diego that is fully accredited for stroke from emergency care through rehabilitation.
