The Special Tree Student Center offers services created specifically to serve the needs of children and teens with brain injuries. The programs focus on self-awareness, community exploration and peer relationships. Pediatric physiatrist Dr. Charles Pelshaw serves as the Medical Director for all of Special Tree’s Children’s Services. An interdisciplinary rehabilitation team works with each student and their family to improve functional skills and increase independence. Programs include: Discover! Summer Rehabilitation Program (June-August), Discover! After-School Programming (September-May), Outpatient Services and Academic Support, Transitional Education Services, Residential Living, Youth Work Programs, and Inpatient Care and Rehabilitation at the Special Tree NeuroCare Center.
