Elise Mitchell (not her real name) is the wife of a combat veteran and the mother of two kids.
Elise's husband was active duty in the Army for six years, serving in Iraq from 2003-2007 with multiple deployments. He was was injured in Iraq and has severe PTSD and a mild brain injury. He was diagnosed while still active duty, and was moved to the warrior transition unit. From there, he was medically discharged and then retired in 2008.
